Here at Dinsmore Baptist Church, we are passionate about getting outside of the church walls and into the world to bring the good news of Christ. “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature”, Mark 16:15-16 is an essential part of the ministry of our church.
In order to reach our missions goals, we offer local outreach opportunities and foreign missions trips.
Local Missions Opportunities
It is our goal to get outside of the church doors on a weekly basis as much as possible. We want to reach Jacksonville for Christ.
These are the different opportunities you have to work in the community.
Trinity Rescue Mission
This is a homeless shelter in Jacksonville that is dedicated to the homeless and hungry in our area. They play a critical role in the care of those that are without a place to stay at night.
Our teenagers have the chance to help distribute food to the homeless. They are able to give them bottles of water and personal hygiene products as well.
Florida Baptist Children’s Home
The Florida Baptist Children’s Home brings in children that need long term and immediate care. This orphanage has been around since 1904 and it is still working well for the community. Many children come to their campuses that require foster care, emergency relief, and adoption.
Every year, we hold an annual Cake Bake to raise funds for the Children’s Home. During the missions portion of Vacation Bible School, we collect funds as well as paper products and other supplies that they need.
Food Box Ministry
Here at Dinsmore, we put together boxes of foods that have enough contents for a family of four to eat a meal. We provide those that have an immediate need with these boxes. Those that have larger families are able to receive more than one box.
Families can visit once a week to receive what they need. Since the need is great in our area, we are always in need of donations and volunteers to help with this ministry.
Every year, we host an alternative to “Trick or Treating” for those in our community. On October 31, children and their families can come to our ball fields and have a safe environment for a night of fun.
This event has games, balloons, snow cones, snacks, drinks, bounce houses, and of course, candy! We invite our church members to be a part of this great outreach to our community. It is a good way to get to know those that live here.
The Blood Mobile is also on campus October 31 from 5:45pm-8:30pm. It is available for those who can to give the gift of life during their visit.
International Missions Opportunities
We believe that not only should the church reach out to those that live locally, but we are to go to the ends of the earth as well. Mission trips will be planned when opportunity arises.
Past trips groups from our church have taken were to minister to the people of the Philippines.

NICARAGUA – This was a great experience for not only the people that were ministered to but also to who were able to participate in this mission trip.
This overseas missions trip is geared towards reaching the people of Trinidad through sports. Their favorite pass time is cricket, although they enjoy other sports as well.
We find that using this activity allows us to reach common ground with the people and open the door to witness to them about Christ.
